About

Where it all began
I remember the day like it was yesterday — because honestly, it still lives in my head like a movie.
It might’ve been Family Day in Toronto. The whole city felt alive: cold air, warm lights, people everywhere enjoying the night. My friends and I were downtown for the first time, exploring like we owned the place. We went to a Marlies game, wandered Kensington Market, and eventually found ourselves at a burger spot called Burgernator.
And that’s where everything truly shifted.
We walked in just as the last customers were leaving — and the owner told us they were out of buns.
But instead of turning us away, he sprinted out of the shop, disappeared into one of the neighboring restaurants, and came running back with fresh packs of buns like he had just done a heroic side quest.
He opened the door for us, sat us down even though the place was basically closing, and cooked us burgers like we were VIP guests.
And then it happened.
I tasted rosemary garlic aioli for the first time.
On the burger.
On the burger.
On the fries.
On everything.
Between the warmth of the restaurant, the kindness of the owner, the chaos of Kensington Market, the energy of Family Day, and the shock of tasting a flavor I didn’t even know existed…
Something changed in me.
This night became a core memory.
My eyes opened — not just to food, but to flavor, texture, color, ingredients, presentation, and the whole vibe of cooking.
From that night forward, I started chasing that feeling.
